With a passion for research and innovation, Michael is a Machine Learning Engineer at STEER Technologies Inc., a leading provider of AI-powered solutions for the automotive industry. At STEER, he leads the development of multi-modality sequential recommendation systems that enhance the user experience and increase the customer retention rate.He recently graduated from the University of Waterloo majoring in Statistics and Computer Science, with a specific focus in machine learning and artificial intelligence. He also completed several internships during his undergraduate studies engaging in NLP, time-series analysis and cloud platform services. He has about 4 years of experience in software development, and his current research focus is on GNN. He continues to read SOTA research papers after the graduation which shows great passion for AI and computer science. He constantly seeks to learn from the best of the best and he works hard to apply the latest learnings to his work.Outside of work, he enjoys table tennis, swimming, weight-lifting, hiking and exploring around the city.
