Was responsible for leading the Policy Desk Department, which focused on longer pieces concerning different approaches to international and domestic politics. Chose writers and edited articles for the department. Served as a staff writer, writing and researching both editorial and factual pieces while meeting strict weekly deadlines. Worked to prepare for international conference sponsored by U.S. Department of State on rapidly developing field of bioforensics. Researched biosecurity, forensic evidence, and the intersection between the two. Personal notes on the conference submitted by FAS to the State Department to serve as takeaways from event.

Worked on wide variety of issues concerning international security, with focus on chemical weapons use during the Syrian Civil War and sanctions against Iran. Independently collected data to determine total amount of casualties in Syria due to chemical weapons. Edited work by FAS fellow that was to be submitted to New York Times.
