Growing up as the son of an Air Force Major who possessed an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit, I learned strict discipline and the rewards of independent business ownership. “Never quit" was understood and a calculated risk was acceptable. My Fathers General Contracting business led us to open Mid-State Truss Company, Inc in 1970. Developing annual sales of over 28 million, we became a dominant force in truss manufacturing. In the beginning, I learned the manual labor of building a business, driving trucks, auto mechanics, building trusses, designing equipment, sales-marketing, personnel management and most importantly how to build a compatible force of committed individuals who put product quality and the customer first. Throughout the years, I have developed a number of businesses- some successful, others were not. But most importantly, I have learned that what could be considered a failure can also be a valuable learning experience. Therefore I continue to move forward with the development of products and services that stay true to my father's core values- to produce quality products and satisfy our customers.
