Michael is a passionate safety leader who seeks to implement contemporary solutions to organisational challenges using a risk-based approach. With extensive experience working in hazardous environments and more recently as a health & safety regulator, Michael ensures projects are delivered on time and achieve their objective.Michael’s previous experience includes over seven years working in a variety of technical and leadership roles at the Victorian WorkCover Authority (WorkSafe). Prior to establishing MicroRisk Group, Michael was the Director of WorkSafe’s inter-agency High Risk Dangerous Goods Taskforce; strategically responding to the varying challenges presented by such complex and high-profile events. Drawing upon established relationships with industry, union and emergency service representatives, Michael utilised various strategies to ensure both process and personnel safety on site among other project deliverables. Prior to joining WorkSafe Michael spent ten years working in the petrochemical sector in maintenance, operational and safety roles.Michael believes the key to any health and safety strategy is engagement with employees at all levels of the organisation and a relentless focus on developing the team to maximise their growth and contribution.
