Michael Ebert is born in Germany 1959. He left school early to become a photographer. At first he was working as a photo-journalist for several newspapers and magazines. Now he is mainly booked by international companies, to realize portraits of the managers and to produce detailed photo-reports. You can find his freelanced works on book covers and in magazines. At the same time he is consulting companies in questions about photography, is developing exhibitions and is organizing and giving workshops. Because speed is, beside the quality, quiet often a major factor for the work of Medias and global operating companies, Michael Ebert has begun to use the new digital photography pretty much from the start. He is looking upon this new technology as a chance and enrichment of the medium.1990 to 1996 he headed the photo editorial staff of the “Deutsche Telekom”. In 2008 he founded the first German university of applied sciences degree program for photojournalism in Magdeburg that he directs also. He is a jury member of some important German Photo Prices. Michael Ebert is a member of the Executive Board of the DGPh (German Society of Photography) and also of the Germany's biggest photography festival. He is pleaded by the renowned picture agency VISUM from Hamburg, Germany, and is living near of Düsseldorf. Since 2012, he managed the estate of the late two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Horst Faas also at the University of Magdeburg. Since 2013 he also teaches at the University of applied sciences of Hannover.
