Having successfully deployed over USD35m of foreign and local capital in Shire Oak's 40MW portfolio of operational rooftop solar in the C&I sector in Vietnam, I am now leading the investment team to deploy our next USD120m investment which will see a further 200MW of renewable energy added to the electricity systems of Vietnam and Indonesia. I am also responsible for the asset management of our growing Asian portfolio as well as identifying new markets, opportunities and mechanisms to drive systemic change in the energy mix of some of the most important economies in the world in the face of global warming.

Shire Oak International’s objective is to accelerate the transition to a global low carbon economy.Shire Oak International was incorporated to innovate, develop and finance renewable energy solutions in emerging and frontier markets around the world.I am currently leading the transaction team in Vietnam where Shire Oak developing, financing and building rooftop solar systems on the roofs of the manufacturing and servicing sectors. With our first project commssioned in January 2020 we are now focused on delivering our first portfolio of operational systems and converting the rest of our pipeline. My team is resonsible for the assessment, optimisaton and valuation of systems, technical, financial and legal due diligence of systems and off-takers, deal structuring, transactions and asset management. We also lead on external fundraising activities to enable Shire Oak to realise the full potential of the opportunity for injecting low cost, renewable electricity directly into the manufacturing hubs of Vietnam and, in time, South East Asia.As Head of Finance across the Shire Oak group, I am also responsible for structuring and optimising deals brought forward by the development teams in other locations. Tidal Lagoon Power's in-house energy sector expert, energy economist and project finance analyst.Key part of the team responsible for developing, financing and consenting a £1.3bn tidal range renewable energy project.Responsibilities include:Project finance;Corporate finance;Government interaction;Energy sector interaction;Project optimisation;Managing relationships with Macquarie Capital (project financial adviser, working on bespoke £1.3bn financial structure for long-life energy assets);Managing relationships with Investec (corporate finance advisers to hold co., on presentation team for £45m funding round roadshow);Managing engagement with National Grid (3,560MW of network access secured to date);Interacting with several academic institutions to create new research and analysis techniques (new research demonstrates tidal range has lower system impacts than wind and solar PV).Examples in FY16/17 include:July 16: Published original analysis in The New Power Cost League Table;16/17: Co-led engagement with the Hendry Review commissioned by UK Government;June 16: Key member of bid team submitting £1.3bn financial structure proposal to UK Government;September 17: Secured 3.2GW of network access with National Grid for first full scale scheme, Tidal Lagoon Cardiff.
