Working on a rotational roster to provide an interface between the Onslow community and the Wheatstone LNG Project, which was in the construction phase. Based in Onslow township the role was to ensure a smooth, mutually beneficial relationship between the project, the local community and local Shire. It involved internal and external communications and issues management, site photography and the organising of all site tours.

After being recruited by Chevron to work on the Gorgon LNG Project, I was transferrred to the Wheatstone Project initially because of my experience on the Sasol Chevron gas-to-liquids project. When Wheatstone became an LNG project in 2007 I continued to represent the project internally and externally for Chevron, particularly with the Onslow community adjacent to the proposed project site. I organised the external interface for the site selection study, ran the Onslow Community Reference Group and acted as the interface between the Onslow community and the project during the construction phase.

During the Front-End Engineering and Design phase for the Gorgon LNG project I assisted with government approvals and community liaison and helped scope communications and issues management plans for the project.

I was contracted to set up a communications team within Alcoa, initially to plan for the announcement of the expansion project, set up a project website and communications plans.Working with Alcoa's Corporate Affairs team, my communications team interfaced with the Wagerup refinery management team, local community reference groups and local media outlets. We sought to educate external stakeholders about the benefits and opportunities of an expansion and assisted with all stakeholder liaison needed to meet the environmental approval process.Upon submission of the environmental approval I was recruited to Chevron to work on the Gorgon LNG project.

Filling this position temporarily while full-time advisor on sabbatical, I was a key part of both the Ministerial office staff and the Government Media Office. Assisting the Minister (Dr Judy Edwards), her Chief of Staff and her principal government departments (Conservation and Land Management and Dept of Environment) to communicate government and ministerial initiatives both internally and externally.During this time I was seconded to assist other minister's offices with major announcements, such as the Minister for State Development (Clive Brown) with the Gorgon State Development Agreement announcement and the Minister for Transport (Alannah MacTeirnan) with the Mandurah to Perth railway announcement.

Recruited by Chevron to support a new partnership between Chevron and Sasol Ltd (Sasol Chevron) to monetise stranded gas assets via a global network of gas-to-liquids (GTL) plants. Sasol Chevron planned to built a large-scale GTL plant on Barrow Island at the time to turn stranded gas from the Greater Gorgon area into ultra-clean diesel for national and international sale.The role included briefing and educating governments, peak bodies and media on the benefits of GTL, promote the concept of a new refining industry in Australia and help gain government, industry and media acceptance.It included helping make a submission to the Trebeck Fuel Tax Inquiry, educating Cabinet Ministers and Government departments on GTL and helping craft a Federal Cabinet submission for Government tax assistance to establish this new industry.

Recruited as a generalist to help fill gaps in the Public Affairs Department after a major downsizing (in 1994). Edited the Trunkline magazine and oversaw its revamp, initiated and helped set up Woodside's first website and handled internal and external communications and issues management. As the department size re-grew my role became more focused on communications and issues management and assisting the Corporate Affairs Manager with the compiling of Chevron's annual report.

Leading a team of up to 30 people (reporters, Electronic News Gathering (ENG) crews, editors and administrative staff to put together live-to-air nightly news bulletins for the ABC studio in Perth. As Weekend News Producer I produced the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night bulletins and also filled the Chief of Staff role on Saturdays and Sundays.News production work is intense and requires sharp decision-making and organisational skills, intense people management skills and a thorough knowledge of the craft of journalism, specifically as it is applied to television broadcasting.

After the closure of the Perth Daily News in September 1990 I was one of three reporters offered a try-out to work as an on-camera reporter for Channel Ten's Perth studios to provide both local (WA) and national news content for Ten's news bulletins. I was chosen for the job and spend 15 months working from the Perth newsroom as a general news reporter.While this required providing temporary cover for some news rounds (specific news subject roles) most of the tasks were assigned on the day.

After graduating from university with a degree in journalism and politics I was selected as a fourth-year cadet by WA Newspapers to work on the daily afternoon tabloid, the Perth Daily News.Jobs included general news reporter, court roundsman, Travel Editor, Chief of Staff, State political reporter, National political reporter, and Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra reporter and bureau chief. After 12 months in the Perth newsroom I was assigned to the Melbourne news bureau for 14 months. Later assignments included three years as the Sydney News Bureau Chief and three years as the Canberra Bureau Chief.In mid-1990 the paper closed its news bureaus and I was reassigned to the Perth newsroom as acting chief of staff and as a senior reporter until the closure of the newspaper in September 1990. I was then recruited to join Channel Ten Perth as an on-camera reporter.
