Mr. Michael J. Edwards, P.E. is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for RIZZO International (RIZZO). His areas of business focus include: operational management, business development, and project management. His areas of technical focus include: project development, geotechnical subsurface evaluation, and seismic/structural engineering for nuclear, hydro, and gas power projects. His geotechnical design and analysis experience includes the project management for nuclear site qualifications and characterizations, field and laboratory testing program planning and implementation, field supervision of drilling and testing activities, stability analyses, liquefaction potential evaluation, and general subsurface characterizations. For hydroelectric project development, Mr. Edwards has been responsible for domestic and international efforts, ranging from preliminary studies to project design. His energy development projects have required local permitting, state regulation, and federal licensure. He has been involved with projects throughout the United States, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has substantial experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) licensing processes.
