- Responsible for the design, development, and testing of VoIP radio dispatch products.- Multiple design projects released to market, including a USB-connected PC audio interface peripheral and a VoIP Gateway device.- Responsible for electrical hardware design/schematic capture. Design elements included a Texas Instruments ARM SoC, switching power supplies, DDR2 SDRAM, NAND Flash, USB2.0 Interface, Ethernet Interface, RGB LCD Interface, audio codecs, etc.- Product-specific customization of User Boot Loader (UBL) and U-Boot bootloader.- Created/customized Linux device drivers for audio codecs, USB, SPI, LCD framebuffer, keypad, I2C GPIO expanders, NAND flash, Ethernet PHY, etc.- Created a framework for interfacing to externally connected devices using RS-232, RS-485, CAN, and USB protocols.- Designed and implemented a protocol for upgrading device firmware via network interface.- Implemented an LCD menu interface for displaying and adjusting device settings.- Designed and implemented a networking redundancy/failover algorithm. - Designed and implemented software to perform automated hardware test/verification in a production environment.- Supported FCC and CE approval testing.- Provided support for product line as necessary. Responsibilities included providing production support , solving component obsolescence issues, conversion of design documentation to SAP system, etc.
