I am Michael Ellinger, a J.D. & Crosby MBA candidate at the University of Missouri Columbia. While at the University of Missouri, I joined Sigma Nu Rho Chapter and have been active since January 2019. As a Sigma Nu, I was the New Member Educator from October 2019 to April 2020, developing my leadership and teaching skills. I was tasked with educating new members on the history and values of Sigma Nu and how to be successful in college and life. I helped groups of 15-50 people develop essential life skills such as time management, accountability, responsibility, and trustworthiness. During my master's program, I had the honor of refounding the Trulaske Consulting Association. In this project, I worked through university procedures for founding a new student organization, including developing a constitution. I recruited over 50 people, planned and hosted public speakers, and conducted a case study with an actual client.My professional experience includes working as a door knocker for the Josh Hawley for Senate Campaign. During this time, I went door to door in Columbia, Missouri, inquiring about and documenting people's voting preferences for the campaign. After this, I also worked as a Human Resources Assistant for Central Bancompany. During this time, I helped to transition the retirement system off of a pension and helped to move document keeping online. I completed my internship at the Missouri Governor's Office, working on constituent services, bill signings, and communications. Most recently, I served as a field and communications staffer on the Vicky Hartzler for Senate campaign, writing letters to the editors and media advisories and running events.
