As Domestic Regional Airports Manager:• Identified, designed and delivered a change in operating model to align the passenger ground handlers with the freight ground handlers leading to a cost minimisation of over 40% and improving the customer proposition – being there for the customer when the flight arrives. Establishing and driving a collaborative approach with ongoing stakeholder management across the QantasLink Airports team supported the long-term success of this change. This change was difficult in some ports due to existing relationships and willingness to complete the less desirable freight function.• Designed and implemented a low-cost IT solution that enabled the Regional Ports to gain access to the Qantas Freight operational system – iCargo through a web portal. This interface delivered a simplified system that removed multiple manual processes, delivering a 20% increase in revenue. Successful delivery was supported by a fit for purpose approach to ensure readiness and build capability remotely across geographically dispersed ports. Training, for the most part, was delivered over the phone due to the simplicity of the interface and the quality of the training material. • Designed and Implemented through detailed process analysis end to end documentation and training required for a diverse range of ports. There was a focus on simplification to ensure that the ports were trained in what they required so as not to burden them with processes that they would not use. This included operational user guides, business continuity plans, system user guides, specific guides for Dangerous Goods and Live Animals.• Introduced the use of training videos in Qantas Freight as a new approach for educating our people and driving engagement across dispersed teams. Staff were involved in the creation of the videos which increased engagement and built broader awareness of the Program. • Product owner for the Track and Trace Project during the start-up phase of the project. Responsible for stakeholder engagement, oversight of the requirements and design of the final interface. Completed a proof of concept (PoC) using one function of the freight sighting process within time and budget. The success of the PoC was evidenced through the Executive Manager using this work to inform a decision to invest in the project.
