Diplomatic, personable, tenacious, and with a strong work ethic, my background in restaurant management and education serves as a foundation to transition to a career in retail compliance, operations and training and development. Most recently, I served as the Owner, Founder, General Manager, and Operating Partner of Wells on Wells, a coveted restaurant, bar, and beer garden in Chicago's famed Old Town Neighborhood. I founded the restaurant in 2005, spearheading the branding, concept, and driving the day-to-day operations. I transformed and revitalized a 1000 square foot building in the heart of Old Town Chicago into earning $1.5M in yearly gross sales. My creative vision, combined with astute business acumen and natural leadership, contributed to establishing Wells on Wells as a neighborhood gathering spot for regulars and tourists. Passionate about providing customers, vendors, neighbors, and employees a positive experience, I lead by example. My goal is to make people feel good, whether they were dining in, serving, or hanging out in the beer garden. From designing the menu, negotiating with vendors, marketing the restaurant, and all human resource initiatives to cultivating relationships with local merchants, police officers, city leaders, hosting events, managing teams, materials, food ordering, and even waiting tables -- I've done it all. Organized, hard-working, and a "can-do" attitude go a long way to making things happen.One of my favorite parts of my job is serving as a coach, mentor, and trainer for my 40 employees, being a "go-to" resource, and help area restaurants achieve success. As a leader, I cultivate a culture of engagement and productivity while celebrating my employees' achievements. Before embarking on the restaurant and bar business, I worked as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher in two of Chicago's most at-risk neighborhoods. Unfortunately, due to COVID, I had to close Wells on Wells. Nevertheless, I leave a legacy of memories for the Old Town neighborhood. Countless customers met their future spouses, named babies "Wells," and commemorated life cycle events. I am proud of what I've left behind and equally as excited to use my skills to embark on my next chapter.When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and enjoying Chicago's best eateries.
