About Michael Engle
I am a retired engineer with a demonstrated history of Process Engineering, Management and Project Management in the Semiconductor Industry. Since retiring from Industry in 2014, I have a number of roles that share the characteristic of community service.My main passion is rock climbing route development. In the last 10 years, I have established hundreds of new routes and first ascents at Castle Rocks State Park, Teddy Bear Cove, Mortal Earth at the Fins, and Massacre Rocks. I am also the volunteer Admin for Idaho for the online climbing database Mountain Project.In support of advocating for the environment, I am currently serving as Chair of the Nonprofit Portneuf Resource Council that promotes Clean Water and Clean Energy in Southeast Idaho. I have a long history of working in the live sound production business and have a small sound production company, Portal Productions, that provides live sound reinforcement, mobile stage rentals, and stage lighting services. In 2019, I was a co-founder and organizer for the now annual Shady Grove Music Camp. SGMC is a two day, 3 stage, 24 music acts, local music festival held on the third weekend of July in Pocatello, Idaho.
