Michael Evans is a contaminated land subject matter expert with over 25 years' experience in the assessment and management of contaminated land. Michael’s key area of expertise involves technical evaluation of contamination risks, issues and liabilities, and the development of site-specific, risk-based assessment and management strategies. Michael has extensive experience in the design, management and implementation of contaminated site assessment and remediation projects across a range of sectors, including asset management, infrastructure design and construction, the oil and fuel industries, Government due diligence and property development.Michael is the Director of Metech Consulting, a specialist, dynamic and innovative environmental consultancy dedicated to providing quality, value for money services, tailored to achieving our clients objectives and aspirations.Michael has been appointed as the principal Contamination Specialist to Transport for NSW for the delivery of the Sydney Gateway project, providing an exciting opportunity for the Metech team of contamination SMEs to manage risk across this highly complex and challenging project.Michael is a member of both the Australian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) and the Sustainable Remediation Forum (SuRF ANZ).Through Michael’s diverse experience across the contamination management industry, Michael has excellent negotiation skills and significant experience with stakeholder engagement and liaison, in particularly with regulators and the community.
