As a Incident Management Coordinator, I assist in the development of response plans for roadways throughout the AOR as applicable; proposes, refines and evaluates new techniques and implements procedures to reduce response time and expedite road clearance; manages the Quick Clearance and Towing and Recovery Incentive (TRIP) program and works with Virginia State Police (VSP) and local agencies to reduce incident clearance times and restore travel lanes to normal.Work closely with VSP Reconstruction Team; responds to all fatalities in the AOR. Establishes Incident Management and emergency response goals. Coordinates with local, regional, and statewide agencies to enhance incident response, management and communications. Leads / participates in training opportunities for local, regional, and statewide incident management activities and initiatives. Manages incidents, emergencies and special traffic events to implement response plans, mobilize incident teams, and coordinate state, local police, fire, rescue and public information officers.Attend State, local and regional law enforcement, fire / rescue agencies, tow associations, and planning committee meetings, ensuring VDOT is represented.
