Hi, I'm an entrepreneur passionate about cities, storytelling, community development, & impact.As the Founder of Breakout, I’ve spent ten years building a nationwide community of changemakers from various backgrounds via transformative experiences driven by connection. We support this unique community through a network of support, resources, and platforms.Since 2014, we have hosted multi-day experiences in 20+ cities and cultivated a vibrant community of 2,000+ mission-driven leaders across the United States. These experiences have invested over 2.5 million dollars directly into the community through flagship summits and local programming. We’ve also created award-winning films telling the stories of incredible entrepreneurs, artists, & activists whom we've had the privilege of meeting through our work.In 2017, I co-founded the Breakout Foundation, which empowers local leaders and entrepreneurs by providing them with a network of changemakers and unrestricted funding to support their communities. We've deployed over $400,000 in grants to 112 community leaders and social enterprises through the Breakout Foundation and advised on over 5 million philanthropic dollars invested in people & projects in communities we work with. In 2020, with the onset of the pandemic and IRL experiences on pause, we expanded our offerings from our proprietary programming to strategy and support to other mission-aligned organizations that wanted to tap our expertise around community, cities, and funding. This work has included working with mission-driven organizations such as Build in Tulsa, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Michigan Founders Fund, and Baker Tilly.My entrepreneurial journey kicked off in 2009, when in the middle of the recession, I decided to walk away from an early career in commercial real estate at Cushman & Wakefield to join a new e-mail news start-up in the commercial real estate sector called Bisnow to grow their national events business. Over the next 4 1/2 years, the team grew from less than a dozen to 75 employees. I expanded the events business into key markets such as NYC, Texas, California, Chicago, Atlanta, and beyond and co-founded their national CEO retreat, Escape. In 2016, Bisnow was sold to Wicks Group.
