I founded Constructive Engineering Design, Inc. (CED) in Kansas City, Missouri in 1992 after beginning my professional career in the nuclear power industry with Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, and later in the aviation and industrial division of Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City. My vision for CED was for it to be a structural engineering firm that serves the building needs of clients in the industrial, commercial, multi-story residential and institutional sectors. For the past several years, CED has been involved in the engineering of projects across a broad spectrum of end uses in the United States and abroad. At the outset, my long-term vision was for CED to evolve to include construction services as an extension of the engineering work provided. Over the years, the firm has expanded its personnel and created a number of alliances to serve developers and owners with specialized design-build project services.CED can provide the design, procurement, fabrication and erection of structural steel through its design-build division, Steel Frame Alliance. The CED management team includes experienced professional project management and field supervision--in addition to in-house engineering services--for large and/or complex projects.Specialties: CED specializes in providing developers and owners low-risk and more certain return on their development investment through a streamlined design-build process for structure and with expert guidance on quality, budget, codes and overall building requirements.
