Loading of Iron ore to, berth 5 shiploader 5 from storage sheds.The Operations supervisor is responsible for seeing that all incidents are reported, all delays are recorded and to be first point of contact for all issue dealing with the Bulk Handling Facility for the Contractors, who operate and manage the Bulk Handling Facility for the Geraldton Port Authority By the following duties.• Issue authority to work in the BHF• Issue hot work permits, working at heights, permits.• Providing group isolations when required.• Conduct BHF inductions.• Provide training and assessment for personal isolator training• Attend pilots meeting to discuss shipping movements• Monitor and record wind conditions during concentrates loading ensuring no loading is done outside of the allowable wind parameters.• Review all work procedures for the BHF ensuring they are up to date, and that the BHF operators are working to these. Make changes to these procedures as required, ensuring that changes are rolled out to BHF operations and maintenance contractors.• Raise Maintenance work request for repairs to BHF equipment.• Encourage and develop positive relationship with BHF contractors, and other port users in creating a strong continuous improvement ideas generation and implementation• Inform all relevant stake holders of delays during shiploading operations.• Conduct daily operations meetings• Record all incidents, breaches and major delays In STEMS• Assist, encourage and support the Rail Operations supervisor in their duties in managing the port rail yard.
Raw Materials E&G Interface Representative.
This role is with the Worsley expansion project. As the area interface representative, I am responsible for the safe access to work areas by the project contractors. Ensuring they have current clearance to work for the facility that they are working in.Participate in Hazop, risk assessments, model & design reviews, this is to see that all areas of concern in the development of new plant for existing facilities are captured and controls put in place.Conduct work place inspections, where contractors are working, this is to make sure all safety protocols are being adhered to and non-conformances are reported and followed up.This is a very challenging role, involved with interactions and communications with contractor management area management, design, electrical and mechanical engineers. As well operations work force and the contractor work force.The areas I am responsible for are, overland bauxite conveyor new chute upgrades, replacing existing twin boom stackers with new slewing boom stackers, upgrades to existing bridge reclaimers, reclaim conveyors to transfer conveyor chute upgrades, transfer conveyors to shuttle conveyors chute upgrades, drive motor upgrades to reclaim and transfer conveyors.Replace 2 shuttle conveyors and install another 2 new shuttle conveyors as to allow bauxite feed into new bin to feed rod and ball mills.The installation of conveyor system’s and bio mass system to feed coal and bio mass to new MFC power station.The building of new alumina rain loading silo, to increase existing silo capacity form 2 wagon loading to 4 wagons loading.Upgrade to port rail unloading facilities, to allow faster unloading of the alumina wagons, as to meet terminal time with trains so rail windows can be met

Supervising 2 operating shifts at Worsley’s Bunbury port facility. Ensuring all activities were done following safety procedures and that all non compliances were followed up and acted on. In my role as Operations shift Supervisor, I safely and effectively ran a shift consisting of 18 operators, 3 electricians and 2 fitters.Adherence to the 24 hour plan was upmost to ensure the trains were dumped, and then the iron ore was screen crushed re-screened and then stacked in to the stockpiles.The iron ore was then reclaimed and loaded on to ships for delivery around the world.As well as managing the shift I was required to liaise with ships officers and agents, to ensure vessel were loaded safely and efficiently.As iron ore was delivered by trains communications with the rail department was vital to ensure the safe and efficient turn around of these trains.The operators on my shift operated all fixed plant, (Car Dumpers, Stackers, Crushing plants, Bucket wheel reclaimers, ship loaders and all associated conveyors and sample plants).Mobile plant (Bull dozers, Front end loaders, Graders, Bobcats)Conduct safety visit on all work activity in my area.Ensure Plant isolation was done correctly to allow contractors and Maintenance safe access to maintain the plant.Complete incident reports on breaches, conduct appropriate enquiries and investigations as required.
