As a primary Detail Leader and first line supervisor in the field of executive protection, I was directly responsible for the daily protective security plans and risk mitigation for an executive protectee of the U.S. Secret Service. Additionally, I held the role of liaison to an executive assigned in the administration at the White House. Operating as the primary Detail Leader for in-town, domestic and foreign visits, I scheduled protective shift agents and reviewed operational security plans for thoroughness and accuracy. In this capacity, I mentored and supervised a team of Special Agents in protective operations as well as whip Special Agents to ensure they received guidance in development as future supervisors.I have found people are our greatest asset! Through open communication and mentorship, complex or sensitive issues are resolved in teamwork and cooperation. During my time in this role, I maintained an awareness for the United States Secret Service’s budget while balancing the needs for the mission. Through a three-pronged approach of fiscal management, mission needs and contractual obligations, I deciphered ambiguous requests in pursuit of a solution which pursued the highest quality of care in consideration of the traveler and expense to the government. Among these were the coordination of emergency action planning between the Presidential Protective Division and First Lady Detail shift, Counter Surveillance, Access Control and Transportation as well as liaison with White House East Wing, White House Medical Unit and the White House Military Office.
