Systems analysis and improvement of a system used for the combination of over 1400 remotely distributed datasets into a single central database (searchable via http://www.iobis.org). I have analysed existing system processes, and made improvements and efficiencies to them. To achieve this I adapted and enhanced third party Java code to automate the capture.

• Designed and built an XML based content publishing system for Sony’s business products. The solution Mike created significantly reduced the amount of work needed to publish Sony’s product content to their Internet sites.
• Developed and supported an online shopping, quote and ordering system that captured sales orders averaging 1.4 million Euros every working day for 4 years. Developing the web front-end and maintained Java code that.
• Research, designed and implemented a system for taking company product, and categorisation data stored in an Oracle database and extracting it as XML for use in other company IT systems. The system built used PL/SQL.
• Troubleshooting the design and construction of a Sales Lead Management web application. Mike analysed the performance of application code, reviewed the logic against the original brief, analysed and tuned dynamically.
• Troubleshooting the speed and performance of Sony’s online shopping cart and checkout solution, Mikes changes to the application design resulted in dramatic improvements to page loading and transaction times.
