S2 Games is an independent, online game developer. During my tenure, we released two titles, Savage 2 and Heroes of Newerth (HoN). Both are considered commercial successes with HoN becoming a major hit in South East Asia. The game still boasts over 100,000 concurrent users.As the only web applications programmer during Savage 2, I was responsible for all back end programming within the LAMP stack. Server setup and deployment, DNS configuration, payment processing with PayPal and Authorize.net, game server and client requests (login server, clan integration, buddy lists, etc.) are just a few examples of my contributions. With Heroes of Newerth, I trained and lead additional members of the web applications team. Following our post release success, performance tuning the application, security issues, managing DDoS threats, and working with DevOps took precedence.
