I'm currently a student at Eastern Illinois University pursuing my educational ambitions of studying international politics and history, with a specific interest in international conflicts and U.S. relations. I became interested in this area of international relations because of my early experience with other cultures and countries. Through friendships with international students, I began to learn and explore the world early in my life, and ever since I have chased the dream of working to help the world. My interest led me to many leadership positions in high school clubs, such as founding our school's Model U.N. and Mock Trial Team, and this continued into my college career. By becoming a member of Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity, the Political Science Association, and the Society of Model U.N., I did so and gained experience in chasing that very dream. Currently, I am an alumnus of Pi Kappa Alpha, but while active I assumed the positions of President, Secretary, Membership Development Chair, and Social Media Relations Chair. My involvement with the Political Science Association also includes the positions of Secretary, Social Media Relations Chair, and Membership-Intake Committee Chair. Despite being extensively involved with extracurriculars, my lifelong goal has been to work for the State Department and I have taken numerous courses orientated toward this ambition. Furthermore, I have made many personal strides as well such as studying Russian and German, extensive geography studies, and my extracurricular participation. My journey with all the courses, clubs, and conferences has allowed me to uncover what motivates me the most, aiding in the push for positive change worldwide. My experience from 4 plus years of holding leadership positions has provided me with the skills I need such as determination, adaptability, and goal-orientated compromise skills. Finally, my time serving in leadership positions across a wide variety of organizations with differing structures, goals, etc. demonstrates that my commitment to the task at hand is one of the most important skills I have learned.
