Michael is the founder, director and CEO of Global Commodity Centre. He was born and bred on farms in southern NSW and regional Qld, and is deeply passionate about the land and agricultural commodities. Agriculture, sustainability, recycling and critical minerals remain key focus areas for Michael, and he is currently working with various domestic and international companies developing exports, commodities, critical minerals and alternate recycling solutions. He has over 35 years of experience in international commodities & trade, agricultural, recycling, sustainability, waste management, critical minerals, metals, oil and financial industries, and has a strong established network within the Australian agricultural community, waste management and recycling specialists, critical minerals producers and research institutions, logistics suppliers, and Asian, Middle Eastern and Sub-continent end-users. He has significant experience in Government and key stakeholder engagement and negotiations, risk management, strategic direction, and business development and improvement.Throughout his career, he has traded various commodity exchanges around the world, including agriculture, oil, metals and financial. He has held director, managing director and senior management positions in large Australian and international companies, and has worked for banks, the Chicago Board of Trade, large international merchants and large Australian co-ops and companies.He has always held the full trust of any board and this has allowed him to operate at an executive level of independence with full company confidence. His success in agriculture, commodities, cash trading, hedging and futures clearly indicates his capacity to analyse complex market problems and develop sound solutions.He develops and sustains key working relationships as a matter of priority. His international trade negotiations, agency development, staff and team management all reflect his ability to communicate with clarity and purpose and to take a hands-on approach.He has travelled, lived and worked extensively throughout Australia and many parts of the world. This has required him to negotiate, participate in and work around some very complex cultural, political and sensitive environments, making him an ideal CEO for this global business.
