Responsible for converged architectures servicing the MSO business segment.Primary technology solutions were based on DOCSIS 2.0 and the associated routed environment. Worked closely with cable customer around North America to provide a consolidated approach to Voice, Video and Data for consumer based networks. I provided senior level management during the construction of a major multi-city backbone. I provided guidance and technical expertise to integrate three separate voice, video and data networks into one triple play environment. The technology spanned across several areas including core networking, set-top-box development, DOCSIS integration, OSS/BSS systems, NMS/EMS systems, VoIP soft-switch and public switch integration. The main role was to bridge business concepts and technology.As a side responsibility, I was responsible for technical due diligence during our growth through acquisition periods and for investment opportunities.The team was also responsible for all network deployments using mainly Cisco GSR gear. While we were also a DOCSIS network we deployed several different CMTS platforms including the Terayon CMTS, Cisco uBR, Motorola CMTS and a plethora of DOCSIS Modems.I managed a large group of engineers who developed software, deployed networks, built new architectures for HFC deployments and provided vendor management.
