During my 30 year career with Ontario Hydro (later Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation), I have provided engineering expertise for the repair and testing of large power equipment (transformers, switchgear and generators), developed standards and procedures for electrical apparatus maintenance and repairs, performed root cause analysis of equipment failures and was the department head of the project management department for transmission and transformer station construction. After retirement from Hydro in 2000, I have been consulting in the forensic engineer field performing origin and cause investigations of consumer, commercial, industrial and utility equipment failures as well as testifying in court as an expert witness.
