Listening to business users thoroughly before designing solutions is essential for success in this role. With years as a business user before turning to a developer, I am also able to anticipate additional needs that might not be evident, but exist as opportunities within the data. After documenting requirements, I script data ingestion from multiple data source types and transform in SSMS using SQL or in Qlik Sense to build data models and visualizations. Interpreting complex data into clear stories and visualizations for senior leadership relied on my experience in analytics and teaching. Grouping members by clinical outcomes in Tableau, I identified characteristics correlated to clinical success and failure and then made strategic recommendations to tailor a wellness program to optimize clinical outcomes. Proving Return on Investment and Value on Investment can be difficult for a Corporate Wellness program. I used wellness and claims data to measure population engagement, clinical results, and financial results. Operating on a small start-up team at DST, I have had the opportunity to serve in multiple roles. I was the primary analyst involved in developing and validating one of DST’s first analytic products. Once released, I delivered sales presentations, supported the product, and managed which enhancements to implement. The analytic product now has eight clients and grosses almost $1M annually. In this role, I have also developed Tableau intensive presentations showing industry level trends that have been used by DST senior leaders at conferences for the industry groups Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) and Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA). In addition, I have produced data the IPA has used for lobbying in Washington. On special request, I have also assisted the Data & Analytics Consulting team when they need data insights for client engagements.
