Building several quality audio amplifiers, upgrading amplifiers from the 70s and 80s by changing internal components for higher quality components, like electrolytic capacitors and quality resisters and transistors, and power supply components such as diodes and bridge rectifiers. These include brands such as; Pioneer, Kenwood, Nad,Arcam,Rotel ,Cambridge Audio,Musical fidelity...The power of amplifier in watts per channel is a definition of how loud it will go, so an amplifier that is 45wpc won’t be that much more powerful than say a 35-40wpc, if you were to go to a 80wpc then it would go louder, but the more power doesn’t guarantee sound quality! It’s the quality of the components used, capacitors, resisters, transformers etc... that matter! A amplifier with only 35wpc with high quality components can easily out perform one with 60wpc in the midrange market. The best thing being involved in the electronics industry is you know what to buy, or is it just gimmick tactics used to blind the buyer, eg ; a mk 2 mk 3 version of the same amplifier, with not much difference in sound quality to justify the extra £80-£150. The prime example is that with mobile phones, constant upgrades, but are they really worth the extra £ ? In most cases probably not unless you’re going from and extremely basic mobile to a top quality brand.Remember the electronics industry needs your money! Be it ; printers, mobiles, speakers, laptops, amplifiers, Televisions etc.. etc...
