My role was to assist the CEO in both continuing my previous role as COO and facilitate an orderly transition of that role to the next generation of leadership as part of my retirement planning.

In this role I worked with the CEO Asia to drive client service and retention, client acquisition and operational excellence across 13 countries in Asia working directly with Country and Regional Leadership. As part of that I managed budgeting and planning, compliance, legal, HR, IT and operations working with teams specifically designated to those tasks. I also directly managed Aon’s joint venture operation in Asia.I was part of many global teams and committees at Aon responsible for global client service and inculcating Aon standards unilaterally across Asia. Part of that was a continual drive for business efficiency and accelerated profit growth.

Taking the previous role to a new level, I was responsible for driving client acquisition and retention together with continuous enhancement of client experience. Together with a team I lead improvement in client retention, client service management and development of a defined sales management process across 13 countries in Asia.

In this role I was responsible for driving sales and client retention in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Pakistan in recognising Aon’s businesses in those countries were not developing at the pace they should be. I also installed many of the global practices of Aon that were not adequately deployed at that time.

I directly oversaw all this operation of over 200 staff and at the time Aon’s second largest business in Asia.
