Identifying a gap in the motorcycle insurance market, provided me with the opportunity to re-engineer an underperforming portfolio by following a few basic rules. Put simply we centralised our operation in Melbourne, developed market leading products with competitive pricing. Expense and claims management contributed significantly to the bottom line. Focussing on these core areas allowed us to turn the business around. Profit and Growth were significantly above targets. Customer satisfaction results were also excellent. Distribution was via retail dealer and direct channels.

A member of the Western QBE Executive Team, accountable for the product development and pricing for personal lines products and consumer credit insurance products. Distribution was via Direct / Retail channels and Financial Institutions / Affinity Groups. The branch network consisted of Melbourne CBD office, with smaller branches located in Hobart, Albury, Bendigo and Geelong. During a restructuring phase I took on some additional responsibility managing the Adelaide Office for for Western Underwriters as it transitioned into Western QBE, QBE's primary Direct insurance channel. At the conclusion of the secondment, I recruited a permanent replacement.
