Owner of all avionics electromechanical products on Starship, including flight critical electronics housings, sensor components, high voltage and high speed interconnect, custom ruggedized connectors, back shells, and other product lines. Working as a technical point of contact and subject matter expert bridging the gap between design engineering and our supply base, enabling rapid new product introduction across the Starship program. Kicked off and leading international sourcing efforts to enable sourcing of flight critical components from formerly unexplored supply base, with goal to deliver lower program cost and more reliable high volume manufacturing. Perform DFM and feasibility studies with vendors to drive design changes and achieve cost efficiencies, streamlining the pathway from raw material stock to integration on vehicle. Working with manufacturing centers to enable build rate and implementing new technologies in order to support the Starship R&D and flight programs, including continuous improvement in manufacturing methods and process controls.

Responsible for all electrical interconnect products for Falcon, Dragon, and Starship across all of SpaceX. Scope includes 15000+ unique parts, including COTS D38999s, D-Subs, SpaceX proprietary connectors, backshells, PCBA headers, and other various interconnect products. Leveraging mechanical design expertise to drive design improvements, system process changes, and implementation on new and existing vehicle assemblies, including PCBAs, box builds, bulkhead connections, and harnessing. Supplier and internal customer interfacing (design/systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, planning), acting as the technical coordinator between SpaceX engineering teams and vendor base. Driving cost savings initiatives via sourcing strategies and defect reduction through root cause analysis and process improvements both internal to SpaceX and at vendors.

Mechanical design engineer leading and managing full product life cycles. NPI, specification review, mechanical design, detailed production drawings per ASME Y14.5, manufacturing, qualification testing, and sustaining (MRB, NCR, supplier outreach) of ruggedized photonics, embedded electronics, and fiber optic hardware product lines for space, aeronautical, and military applications. Led product engineering for a variety of Mil-Spec qualified connectors and hardware (D38999, M28876, D-Sub), Ethernet media converter LRUs, transceivers, high power fiber optic contacts, and fiber optic cabling.
