Served my second 11-month federal service term focusing on environmental education, community outreach, water quality monitoring, sustainability initiatives, and urban pesticide reduction through Good Neighbor Iowa. Selected to serve on Volunteer Iowa’s Member Leadership Council Pilot Program. Received 2022 Governor’s Volunteer Award. Assisting an intern with an Internal County Operations Greenhouse Gas Inventory with data collection from Linn County Departments to assess emission levels from county-owned operations. Responsible for designing and leading Environmental Education events. Collaborated with fellow Green Iowa AmeriCorps Member on giving a presentation about Climate Thoughts to Climate Action through the Cedar Valley Community Conservation Workshop via Zoom. Assisting Linn County’s Sustainability & Resiliency Advisory Committee, its purpose is to create yearly Greenhouse Gas Inventories. Helped with the recruitment process of 15 applicants and created a guiding packet with pertinent information. Coordinating and leading meetings, serving as a liaison to utility, waste management, and transportation officials for data needs, and providing additional resources. As part of my Professional Development Project, collaborated with a Furman Biology Professor, Dr. John Quinn on sharing and gauging interest in his research to local farmers and agricultural organizations in Iowa through a Zoom Webinar about Regenerative Agriculture and Bird Diversity on Farms.

Served an 11-month federal service term focused on energy efficiency, energy education, and community outreach. Using a team-based approach, providing residential energy efficiency weatherization services. Acquired BPI Building Analyst Certification and Save Our Streams (SOS) Official Monitor Certification. Responsible for designing and leading Environmental Education Events. Performed and distributed over 150 Energy Saver Kits and Energy Audits through community energy outreach projects. As part of my, Professional Development Project worked on a GHG Inventory Report, Community Outreach Efforts, and Climate Action Plan, using ClearPath, with Linn County's Sustainability Program Manager. Selected to serve on Cedar Rapids Climate Action Neighborhood Group. Enrolled in a GIS course where my final project is reporting on crime, bike-ability, and property values metrics using GIS.

Through a Furman University Boot Camp Fellowship, worked remotely on a project using Stella software to compile information on what can be and cannot be recycled in Greenville County. Used Salesforce NPSP to execute a "green" Back to School drive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Exceeded project goal by 3x, collecting $1,000+ in supplies retail credit.

Analyzed growing controversies in American politics centered on the way food is produced in the United States and globally. Worked on farms and spoke with farmers, advocacy groups, environmental advocates, agricultural researchers to learn about production and sustainable agriculture methods. Examined agricultural practices that can damage, restore and sustain the environment.

Received inventory, assembled furniture, packed orders and delivered merchandise.

Completed hours for my high school sociology class second semester senior year and interned over the summer. Responsibilities included sorting and bagging collections of books to be distributed to under-resourced pre-school and elementary kids.
