Mike Garrard will be entering his 15year at Oregon Tech. Last year he took over fulltime duties as the Director of Sports Information and Communications. Mike is responsible for all the athletic events, event staff, and game management. Mike also oversees all the content on the athletics web page www.OregonTechOwls.com, is the head statistician for the Athletic Department. Garrard has been a part of the basketball broadcast at Oregon Tech since 2005, working with his longtime family friend and buddy, Bobby Thompson, on the play-by-play broadcast of all men’s and women’s basketball games. Prior to accepting the position at OIT, Mike worked in radio beginning in 1985 and television production since 2005. In radio, he served as operations manager for Garrard, Inc. and program director for New Northwest Broadcasters as well as providing on-air voice talent for radio broadcasts. In 2005, Mike worked for Lush Productions where he was an audio technician, recording, editing and providing voice talent for television broadcasts in 30 of the top 50 markets in the United States. Mike has an extensive background in marketing, broadcasting and promotions that is an asset to the Athletic Department.
