CurrentTexas Bearing Services is a small company built from the ground up specializing in the repair and manufacture of large roller bearings, as well as hydro dynamic fluid film bearings (babbitt bearings) and seals for rotating equipment.Using the principals of lean manufacturing and the advancements of manufacturing technology we have stream lined the design to manufacturing process. We have achieved this by coupling Solidworks 3D auto-cad with Gibbs cam software which allows us to design detailed assemblies that can be rendered into real world applications that 100% guarantee bearing will fit and function properly.Detailed part drawings can be sent over a secure network to surface tablets at each manufacturing or inspection station. This not only allows us to enforce a strict document control policy but gives the machinist/inspector the ability to zoom in, rotate views, or even make details like seal tooth patterns to scale which has drastically reduced cycle times because the operator is not having to walk back and forth from the shop floor to the drafting dept.We have implemented a strict Quality control program that is ISO 9001:2008 compliant and we are in the process of becoming ISO 9001:2014 certified.In this effort we have added a complete stand alone Quality Control room that is both climate and humidity controlled. This room houses a large precision granite table, assembly/inspection tables, bump tables, mandrels, as well as a costum built set bore machine using a NeWall DP 700 readout with glass scales allows us to measure Tilt Pad Bearings to +/-.0001 T.I.ROur babbitt process has been designed for consistency by using programmable electronic remote thermostats and a custom built spinner with a programmable VFD. We can program casting temperature and speed to match the ID and wall thickness of the backing shell so the same results are achieved every time.Proving that small companies can provide superior quality but above all superior customer service.
