I lead the team that develops accounting and audit related policies for the Prudential Regulation Authority, part of the Bank of England. We consider how accounting and audit can help to achieve the PRA's objectives of safety and soundness of regulated firms. We work with standard setters and international regulating bodies such as the Basel Committee on Banking Standards and EIPOA.Previously I was an Accounting Advisory director at PwC, helping my clients navigate accounting complexity and change. I specialise in GAAP conversions, deals-related issues and new standards (IFRS 15 and new UK GAAP). I am an IFRS and UK GAAP specialist and also work with US GAAP.Subject-wise, I am an expert in financial instruments, business combinations, consolidation and revenue.I have worked across a range of industries including lifesciences and pharmaceutical, asset management, banking, media and technology.Previous experience includes being part of PwC's Accounting Consulting Services team, solving accounting problems, being a lead author of PwC's Manual of Accounting, delivering training and conference speeches and leading on the PwC network's response to IASB exposure drafts.
