Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer
Current•Manage Hybrid network connectivity for SITA’s R&D Engineering & Development teams in a high demand air transport focused international company. •Manage labs, office, test situations, customer and inter-site connectivity Ensure 99% availability. Responsible for all associated components such as Cisco routers & switches, circuits, Azure Cloud, VPN Tunnels, virtual / physical servers, content appliances and firewalls.•Manage all “edge” security firewalls and content appliances for the local and remote offices.Currently the edge security platform is Cisco ASA with Firepower which will be moving to Palo Alto Next Gen Firewall to replace the Cisco ASA’s.•As a senior member of my team I’m also responsible for training / mentoring junior staff as needed. In addition to this I have led efforts where I was responsible for assigning, supporting and tracking staff activity.•I introduced SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor, and SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Management for monitoring and backup of the team’s network infrastructure. These products have become invaluable tools for the team.•I evaluated and later introduced Barracuda Networks Content Appliances at our sites. Use of this product effectively recovered over 1/3 of the available internet bound bandwidth. •Responsible for forecasting / review equipment need with management and provide input for budgeting as well as procurement.•Responsible for Documentation, topology diagrams, and procedures for staff and the I.T. Department, following ITIL Methodology & Framework, and Azure Devops for all projects.•Maintain and manage a mission critical VmWare ESX clustered environment as well as for mission critical servers such as Domain Controllers, Terminal Servers and WSUS. Deployed and use Veeam as the team’s backup solution. •Perform system upgrades; install new hardware, and operating systems in a Microsoft Active Directory / Azure environment(s).
