Pediatric Critical Care Transport Nurse

Responsible for the medical and surgical care of pediatric patients ages infant to 16years. Educates patients and their families on medications, wound care, tracheostomy maintenance, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Proficient in the use of ventilators and tracheostomies. Routinely works with central lines and surgical drains. Collaborates in patient care with both physicians and case management.

Performed Q/A of charts within OASIS software. Performed all tasks with a patient-centered focus while seeking opportunities for improvement of processes and treatments.

Assist the Trauma Team during critical medical operations including Cardiac Events, Serious Injury mitigation and other Emergency Room tasks. Non-Trauma care includes: taking vitals, measuring and recording intake and output, documenting care given to patients, collecting specimens, drawing blood, performing EKG’s and other treatments. Assist Medical Personnel during other sterile procedures including, but not limited to: Lumbar Puncture, casting/setting of broken bones, and transporting patients within the hospital
