Managed multiple projects providing the programming, design and construction of new and renovation work at UCSD Medical Center’s Hillcrest and La Jolla Campuses. Led consensus process and conceptual planning, organized the delivery of multiple projects to meet the design, schedule and cost expectations of the University and the Medical Center stakeholders. Responsible for integrating facility upgrades and program requests within strategic goals and fiscal limitations. Project scope ranged from $65,000 Systems Furniture upgrades to $3,000,000 Emergency Department and Laboratory Expansion. • Negotiated contracts for executive design services, construction and specialty contracting • Coordinated multiple contractors and subcontractors on congested sites• Managed contractor and design team communication• Guided medical center staff and in the evaluation and selection of design options • Confirmed program and design goals with design development and construction documentation• Reviewed bid documents, prequalification documents for general contractors and specialty contractors• Construction administration including review of change order requests (CORs), Architect’s Supplemental Instruction (ASIs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and facility and Office of Statewide Healthcare Planning and Development (OSHPD) requested revisions• Final closeout documentation for contracts and for OSHPD and State Licensing review

Primary technical lead for design development and construction documents for all design phases of numerous commercial, medical and institutional projects. Responsible for consultant coordination including contracts and scope, internal budgets and production monitoring, client relations, in-house production quality and project design schedule. Project delivery methods included traditional design bid build, and design build processes with contractor led delivery teams. Representative ProjectsCenter Point Plaza, Carlsbad, California 100,000 sq. ft. speculative office building with below grade level of secured parking. Design Build process was expedited by use of Revit for development of design strategies and options. Responsibilities included entitlement process and CUP for development standards and building permit. Coordination with Revit allowed for early release of steel package at substantial savings to owner. Gold Nugget Award Winner 2008.________________________________________UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest-Utility Link Replacement $9,000,000 infrastructure project relocated existing utility lines (steam, chilled water, air, water, emergency power, regular power, fire alarm and low voltage systems) from SPC 1 structure to new utility rack in canyon. Primary responsibility was coordinating the engineering disciplines in a multiple phase project and reducing the number of shutdowns to critical hospital services. Other projects included Cymer Building 6, Eisenhower Medical Center Surgery Expansion, Sharp Rees Stealy Otay Mesa Medical Office Building, Evangelical Formosan Church, 505 Lomas Santa Fe Office Building and numerous Prop MM school renovations for San Diego Unified School District.
