International Student Orientation Coordinator

• Planned, prepared, and coordinated all aspects for the orientation program for new foreign students through the International Student Center. Duties included: recruiting, leading and training a group of 14 Orientation Leaders and 4-8 auxiliary volunteers, designing literature, writing and editing letters and pre- arrival information, writing and designing information sessions, purchasing materials for training and the main program, coordinating with various offices and departments to present training and information sessions.• Worked closely with various departments to assist arriving foreign exchange students. Remained on call past business hours, performed meet and greet of students, personally checked in residents and distributed keys, maintained emergency contact information, negotiated with vendors to for linen and laundry services, coordinated special meal times with dining services, and provided general support on transition into the USA and student life.• Conducted group verbal and individual written evaluations of the program with staff and volunteers; collected written assessments from students undergoing the program. Compiled data and prepared reports accordingly. Regularly updated, edited, and revised website. Corresponded with international applicants about admissions process and orientation program.• Drafted a complete grant proposal for submission to a professional association, with the intent to use adventure training with a team of domestic and foreign students for international orientation.
