Having left NZ Football, with a desire to continue work in the Sports industry, I took on the role of Tournament Director for the NZ PGA (Golf) Championship, played at the incredible Hills course in Queenstown. The 2012 event was a huge success, with some fantastic feedback with amateurs playing alongside the pros - a format that works exceedingly well, and creates a real point of difference. The 2013 and 14 events clearly stepped up a level from 2102, continuing to build to the point where prize money reached $1m in 2015.The event became the New Zealand Open in 2015 - NZ's premier and most prestigious golf tournament, and has 144 amateurs playing alongside 144 golf professionals; a significant hosting challenge!2015 and 2016 saw the event carried live on TV throughout NZ, Australia and SE Asia, with a real focus on Japan - not only for TV, but also significant corporate backing - we generate substantial commercial income from that market, and now have 20 top Japanese ('JGTO') Tour Pros playing in our event. From 2017 onwards the event is underwritten by the Ishii family, owners of Millbrook - a world-class resort, with a team who are a joy to work with. For 2018 and beyond we have entered into a co-sanction agreement with the Asian Tour also, signifying further growth into the rest of SE Asia. Importantly this gives us total global TV coverage, with 30 Asian Tour Pros and 20 JGTO pros joining the best of Australasia in the field. The 6 previous tournaments taught me a huge amount about running seriously big events, and has inspired me to keep getting better and putting on something that can be considered truly world-class. Having served the maximum term on the Board of NZ on Air, I also seek another Board position in a related field. I have recently been appointed to the Board of the NZ PGA.My goal remains to control my own destiny, and to work in the areas of life that interest me most, with people that I enjoy working with. I carry out governance duties for a wonderful charity, Play it Strange. Run by our 'national treasure' Mike Chunn, the organisation does some wonderful things to help school children appreciate the opportunity that music can give them. We have had some great success stories, particularly with troubled children who have found their niche.
Governance role for Government agency which controls funding for broadcasting in NZ; covers Music, TV and Radio; I have served the maximum term (6 years) and have learnt much about Governance and of course the TV and radio industries; I now actively seek another Board position in a relevant field.

Fortunately this too was very profitable.
