I am highly driven to achieve objectives in the area of food safety and particularly in imported food coming to the EU. I have a very high level of professional interpersonal and diplomacy skills and have worked on import controls and food safety systems most recently for 6 years with the European Commission and then as Head of Imports for the FSA from December 2012 to February 2016, I am focussed and enthusiastic towards the approach to safe imported food and safe food in entirety. I look to ensure exporting countries have the opportunity to understand the UK imports model and how it works in assisting them in their controls and accessing the UK/EU market with safe food prooducts. I am widely regarded as a leading expert in EU Imported Food legislation and have delivered presentations worldwide on these requirements in assisting non-EU countries to understand and comply with European Imported food legislation and food control system at borders..
