The Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Oversight is the Secretary's direct reporting office for providing and coordinating intelligence oversight of the DoD Intelligence Community. The staff coordinates on all DoD intelligence policy; establishes department intelligence oversight policy; and conducts inspections, assistance visits, and training worldwide to ensure that programs are in place to enforce compliance with law, policy, and regulation governing intelligence and intelligence related activities. The OATSD(IO) is also the DoD conduit for reporting intelligence oversight matters to the President's Intelligence Oversight Board.

The Intelligence Oversight Division (IOD), USAIGA is a hand picked, ten person office responsible to The Inspector General and the Secretary of the Army for Department of the Army level oversight of Army Intelligence Activities and assessment of the Army's classified and compartmented acquisition, intelligence, and operational programs. In addition to planning and executing a world wide inspection program to evaluate the compliance of this diverse range of programs with law, policy, and regulation, the IOD provides full service inspector general support to its client community, including provision of assistance and investigation of allegations of impropriety and misconduct. The division reports through The Inspector General directly to the Secretary of the Army and other Army senior leadership and its personnel's expertise extends to the full range of intelligence activities; and acquisition,contracting, security, and financial mangagement programs of the Army's most sensitive activities.

Career U.S. Army Armor Officer. Multiple command assignments from platoon through battalion level requiring exceptional team building skills, the ability to analyze complex problem sets, prioritize resources and requirements, and develop effective solutions in support of timely mission accomplishment. Multiple staff assignments including experience in Civil-Military Affairs, Personnel Management, Force Structure Development and Management, Foreign Military Sales Programs, and Compliance Inspection with the Deparment of the Army Inspector General's Agency. These assignments spanned a broad spectrum of leadership and management functions at the highest organizational levels of corporate policy making. They included developing and negotiating problem solutions in multi-national, multi-cultural environments; planning and programming corporate level structure to address long range organizational strategy; and meeting Army manning requirements with consideration for the individual goals, objectives, and family needs of military personnel.
