I design the curriculum for the science teachers in the ten campuses under corporate management. The curriculum is designed to facilitate student mastery of the science portion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. I support the science teachers by visiting campuses, modeling, helping with technical issues(SmartBoards), and training. I also provide support by coordinating with campus principals to maintain TAKS focus and providing materials designed to encourage a laboratory approach. I prepare the common assessments given every three weeks to determine student progress in working toward TAKS success.

Hampton Preparatory

I taught chemistry and physics. I was hired to increase student mastery of the science objectives as tested on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. Sophomores increased master of the TAKS objectives from 19% to 55%. Juniors increased their mastery on the TAKS for graduation from 47% to 90%.

I served as an assistant principal at Ferris Middle School for 3 years and as the principal of Ferris Elementary School for 2 years. I also was transportation director in charge of daily operations and routing. As the need arose, I served as substitute bus driver. While principal at the elementary school, I emphasized reading using the Six Flags Reading program as well as the McDonald's Reading program. I authored a column called the "Principal's Corner" once a month in the local newspaper, The Ferris Wheel.
