As of June 2015, I started working as a Responsible Person for the Pharmaceutical Wholesale Dealership known as JV Pharma Limited. My responsibilities as a RP include ensuring compliance with the general conditions of authorisation and safeguarding products against potential hazards arising from poor distribution practice; as well as regularly reviewing and monitoring all areas relevant to GDP such as accuracy of records, compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the quality of handling and storage equipment and facilities, temperature monitoring and other relevant areas. I am now working full time as a Community Pharmacist at Fatima Pharmacy, one of the chain of pharmacies owned by JV Pharma. I manage Fatima Pharmacy and also work in the other eleven pharmacies owned by the company hence I have a broad understanding of successfully running a pharmacy. Throughout my 5 years of study at the University of Malta, I also worked on a part-time basis at Betfair in which my role was Customer Service Operations. I worked at Betfair for 7 month while also enrolled and studying as a full time student - this job gave me the knowledge and understanding of how to deal with customers and the awareness of what one needs to possess for optimum customer satisfaction. Working as a Customer Service Operator was also beneficial for me in regards to the pharmacy environment as I learnt a greater customer satisfaction equals higher sales and enhanced reputation. I am an ambition, well-driven and hard working individual who is ready for any challenges that come my way.

As part of the Masters in Pharmacy degree at the University of Malta which I have successfully graduated in, I was invited through the Erasmus program to work and further my knowledge in Valencia Spain at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University.Through out my 4 month stay in Valencia, my main objective was to understand the condition known as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and all methods and/or procedures needed to understand this disease further.RP is an inherited, degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment and often blindness. There is no cure for this condition and in general the later the onset, the more rapid the deterioration in sight.The main study I was apart of within the 4 month stay was determining the amount of MDA and proteins in retinas of both control and retinal pigmentosa (rd10) mice. The aim for performing and analysing these methods was to further understand this condition and its onset and , which will lead to the hopeful treatment for such a disease.Activities which I needed to grasp and perform correctly included: 1) Lowry test 2) Determination of MDA 3) Extraction of retinas of both control and rd10 mice (Retinal Pigmentosa mice) 4) Immunohistochemistry 5) Homogeneity 6) Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining 7) Cutting via Cryostat.
