I am a PhD graduate with research interests in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and glaciology, having graduated with a distinction from my MSc in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Leeds . My PhD studies have focussed on late 20th/early 21st century environmental change in Greenland, predominantly working with GIS and remotely sensed data to asses both glacier and glacier free change in response to climate change. I have become highly proficient in the use of Google Earth Engine (GEE), and leverage its highly powerful, cloud based parallel computing to conduct geospatial analysis at an unprecedented spatial scale and resolution. GEE will undoubtedly become the industry standard for future geospatial applications, making my early adoption and experience lucrative. My masters studies compounded a detailed conceptual understanding of the utility of GIS and remotely sensed data. I have produced geospatial models with applications across multiple sectors from flood risk modelling to site suitability and environmental impact assessment. As part of my studies I embarked on a research expedition to Iceland, where as part of a small group of 4 we studied the formation and distribution of supraglacial debris on the Kvíárjökull glacier. The expedition required me to work efficiently as a group within the timescale we had in field, as well as in producing a scientific poster which was presented to peers and academics, for which I received a first class grade. Following my undergraduate degree I spent a few years travelling which involved 1 year living in Whistler, Canada. Following this I organised a number of mountaineering expeditions. In the summer of 2015 I organised a one month climbing trip to Chamonix, in the French alps, which culminated in my leading of an unguided climb to the summit of the Matterhorn.
