Member of a team that founded a new college-prep high school in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. As AP World History teacher, designed and taught six AP World history courses that incorporated college level scholarly articles, literature, experiential learning, and elements of project based learning. As Assistant Director, facilitated transition to a new charter management organization (iLEAD) and from a site-based to a hybrid independent study model. As part of transition, trained staff on independent study compliance, the use of online platforms such as Google Classroom and Google Drive, NWEA Measures of Academic Progress testing, and provided ongoing professional development and coaching on student centered instructional practices such as project-based learning and the flipped classroom. Other responsibilities included serving as AP Coordinator, designing the master schedule, overseeing curriculum and instruction, supporting operations, IT support, marketing, and student conduct.Instituted conferencing model school-wide that involved parents and students in the dissemination of data and goal setting through individual conferences with every student enrolled.
