As the owner of Peak experience I have an aim of using outdoor education as a 'vehicle' for change in adults and young people, by developing soft skills that are transported to the work or school environment. We run corporate team building events including rock climbing, guided hill/mountain walking, watersports, archery, mountain biking and bushcraft all interspersed with team building and leadership tasks throughout the event. In schools we mainly work with young people who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. By using the AQA Unit Award Scheme and NGB awards we aim to show an accreditation to learning through a positive experience in an outdoor environment.

As the operations manager I'm responsible for the day to day running and delivery of alternative education groups for several academy schools across the North West. This includes booking of staff and outdoor education activities. Planning, coordinating and linking learning to the AQA unit award scheme, developing worksheets for students and assessment of work to be awarded. I also manage several groups delivering outdoor education activities including rock climbing, hill walking, water sports and mountain biking. The activities are programmed to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and self esteem enabling students to return to mainstream education.I also coach climbing sessions in the evening on a one to one basis to young people in care helping develop interpersonal skills and fitness.
