Partnership In Education Intern
600 Pennsylvania Ave Nw, Washington, Dc 20580
As an intern in the Partnership in Education (PIE) program, Michael worked in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), a branch of the Office of Executive Development (OED). While there, he gained an extensive knowledge of the task management system Drupal 8 by programming and editing numerous webpages for the FTC website, FTC.gov. He also modernized 2 sections of the FTC's Administrative Manual for OCIO; Michael scheduled interviews with numerous FTC employees to discover their daily tasks, to find out the capital they used on a daily basis, and ascertain how they interacted with members of other branches within the OED. Outside of these and other tasks, Michael interviewed all three commissioners and developed a summary of each's views and ideas about the current goals of the FTC, shadowed FTC employees to obtain a broader sense of the inner workings of the Commission, and recapitulated the entirety of his experience at the FTC in a report that was distributed to the FTC Commissioners, his supervisors, and future interns.
