Drawing on 32 years of experience in the energy industry, Dr. Hand serves as president and CEO of Hand Energy Automation and Technology LLC. This year Dr. Hand has taken Hand Energy to the international level. Specializing in smart grid initiatives and technology, he oversees and implements design of leading edge solutions for power control, wind and solar generation, and power transmission. Dr. Hand is considered a subject matter expert on smart grid technologies and is frequently invited to speak at universities and technical forums on these subjects. He consults with his customers to provide systems and procedures that ensure compliance with federal guidelines for energy reliability. He also operates the company at the executive level by providing oversight and direction to the various divisions such and Engineering Operations, Information Technology, and Smart Grid Initiatives. Dr. Hand is a graduate of the Executive Development program at Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University. He earned a Doctor of Theology and Theological Studies from Covington Theological Seminary in 2007, a Master of Science in engineering and industrial management from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1985, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1980. He has served as an adjunct faculty member of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In 2007, Dr. Hand received a Professional of the Year award. As a minister, he is involved with numerous church ministries is the founder of the Christ Centered Foundation. He is also involved in community aid and assistance programs like the Samaritan Center and World Changers.
