I was a member of the Ambulance Service for 32 years in which time I held a number of positions including,Station OfficerEmergency Planning OfficerCBRN managerOperations Support managerHART manager.Specialties: Inter-agency command, CBRN planning and response, staff management, project delivery ( 1st paramedic USAR team in Europe), CBRN and Major Incident training and exercise development and delivery, incident Management training, Radiation Protection Supervisor, NILO, AMLO and specialist tactical/strategic advisor.After 37 years in the Public Service I have taken early retirement and am now working in collaboration with a retired Police Colleague from CTU and a specialist equipment provider at a new company called M2S Ltd. Our intention is to work from the Private sector to provide enhanced equipment and specialist traning packages across a broad spectrum of organisations with a number of specialities including CBRN, DVI, Command and Control, debriefing etc.I will be working with a number specialist associates, who are amongst the very best subject matter experts in the U.K. to deliver a complete training and exercise capability.All M2S Systems trainers and Associates have real-world experience that enables us to deliver training for practitioners by practitioners at all levels from Strategic to Operational.Since retiring I have managed to acquire 4 Granddaughters who are now just about my full time occupation, which may be the most enjoyable position I've held.

Harzardous Area Response Team/Cbrn Manager
I developed the initial USAR element of the HART project on behalf of Dept Health and went on to deliver one of the first Hazardous Area Response teams in the UK. I then managed a team of 42 specialist paramedics capable of working within a variety of hostile envirironments including CBRN, USAR, safe working at height, Swift water and support to Police and Military specialist units to deliver pre-hospital care.With overall responsibility for the Trusts CBRN capability, I was a member of several LRF sub-groups and quality assured the CBRN training programme of the Hospital Trusts across West Yorkshire.I was the operational representative on the group that developed the Dept of Health National Radiation Policy.With overall responsibility for the management of all assets and estate as well as the training and competency programme for the team my skill set has developed into a broad range in the past few years.The HART response is part of a National project the Yorkshire team has assets in excess of £4 million pounds and an annual budget of almost £ 3million per team. This is the extreme end of pre-hospital care capability and needs to be managed accordingly.
Cbrn Manager
As the Service CBRN manager I had responsibility for the development and delivery of the training and exercise programme for 140 staff, the procurement of all equipment and vehicles and the implementation of an awareness programme that was disseminated across the service.Qualified as a Gold and Silver CBRN commander, I was responsible for the strategic and tactical advise to senior commanders .in 2004, with support from the Health Protection Agency, I was responsible for the initiation and creation of the Hazmed scheme which was Europe's first team of paramedics to be trained in the recognition of specific chemical threats to patients and the recommended treatment of chemical injuries. The scheme has now been adopted by several Ambulance Trusts in the UK.
