Additionally, maintain several internally facing tools and applications in relation to application deployment, visibility, governance, and reporting.Other responsibilities include managing/supporting several enterprise wide SaaS applications for communication, platform management, QA/QC/QE tools, IaC tools, cost governance tools, and corporate financial reporting tools.Finally, this role involves participating in an on call rotation for tier 3/4 operational support of cloud infrastructure, to supplement SRE, DevOps, and application/enterprise operations teams. As such, extensive troubleshooting knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, OS, ingress, WAF, firewall, DNS, load balancing, CDN, object storage, identity and access management, observability, logs, filesystems, deployment pipelines, git-based workflows, and many other relevant areas is required.

Responsibilities include: management of Unix & Microsoft infrastructure products, including but not limited to: Microsoft Exchange Server, MediaWiki, Nagios Groundwork, Nagios Icinga, Altiris, Microsoft System Center 2012, and licensing software (including but not limited to: Labview, ArcGIS, Autodesk, MathCAD, Mathematica, SolidWorks, and 70+ others).Tasks include: patching all infrastructure within downtime windows, performing maintenance during regular business hours with limited downtime, troubleshooting networking, software, & hardware related issues, planning future infrastructure solutions, decommissioning legacy hardware and software, continual monitoring of infrastructure health, and interfacing with tier 2 and tier 1 support technicians.Major projects include: Migration from on-premises Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to Microsoft Office Live 365, standing up Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 & 2016 and Microsoft Server 2012 R2 active directory test instances, setting up a test System Center 2012 environment, standing up new documentation infrastructure and procedures, and performing in place hardware upgrades.

I provided walk-up technical support for the University of Oklahoma. Tasks included initial triage and troubleshooting of Windows and Mac hardware, creating and updating internal documentation, as well as basic IT help desk duties such as backing up customer equipment and performing hardware repairs and upgrades. This position not only exposed me to several different pieces of hardware and software, but also exposed me to the diverse student and faculty population at OU.

During my internship, my goal was learning the day to day operations of a Systems Administrator in a financial institution. I was also handed several projects to add value to the organization throughout my internship as I was learning. These projects consisted of maintaining and verifying compliance with McAfee Endpoint Encryption and Symantec Endpoint Protection on both servers and workstations. I troubleshooted well over 100 workstations and servers with these two pieces of software alone. I was also tasked with Sharepoint administration projects that included managing databases as well as managing the Sharepoint Server itself. Finally, I was formally trained with Microsoft Exchange Server and learned how to manage day to day operations involving everything from distribution lists to disaster recovery.Throughout my internship experience, I participated in a 10 week project management project called Battle of the Interns. Our goal was to come up with ways to cater to the Millennial generation from both customer and employee perspectives. My team and I had to present to senior management and various college deans from top Oklahoma schools. The solutions and strategies that my team came up with proved to be effective as we won the contest.

I provided desktop technical support for a group of roughly 100 employees. Tasks included imaging or otherwise preparing new hardware as it arrived on site, deploying new hardware, decommissioning old hardware and verifying data destruction, one-on-one training of new software, and I also helped run manual daily backups of on-site servers.
